Great Course. I was dreading the topic as I am already busy and full time LCSW. But I really appreciated that you started with the therapist POV. YES. I am the filter by which I interact with a client. How I feel about the topic of suicide is important.
Starting with this approach of therapist POV provided more space to consider another's suffering. I am thankful for Amanda's honest story. I believe her when she speaks about this topic. Also, I was a huge fan of discussion of spirituality and coping skills in a therapeutic humanistic approach.
Nice presenting, as always.
Give me a good starting point in terms of suicide management.
This was an excellent course. I don't have a ton of experience with the Gestalt approach, but I'm fascinated by it and it was interesting to learn about some of the course's points through this lens. I think more than anything, hearing the passion in the presenter's voice, about Gestalt and navigating Suicidality with clients was inspiring. I also appreciated the mention of specific books and treatments/interventions, for further learning. I've added "The Suffering Stranger" by Donna Orange to my reading list.
Excellent information.
Thank you for this model and the overall reassurance.
Very thorough course and it made me feel less shameful about not being aware of all the things I feel I struggle with when it comes to suicide assessment.
Amazing!
The process of finding, starting, and getting through and completing the course was easy and great!
I think that this was an informative course that refreshed and added to previous suicide trainings/courses that I have taken.
