I really enjoyed this review course. It helped me to feel confident when taking the LCSW-C exam in Maryland. I am so thankful to this course. I was able to manage working full time and studying for this exam.
I loved TDC and this time around I am committed to the coaching and mentoring to pass the test.
This was an excellent course that made all the difference in me passing the exam. The practice exams were so similar to the actual test that my anxiety melted away which is a lot for me. I really felt this program helped me organize the study material and think more critically for the types of questions on the test. The lectures are unlike other programs because I really think it really help to practice you reasoning skills which is the bulk of the exam. I listened to the lecture 2-3 times. Another important component was the ethics lecture which was key for this exam. Thank you for help me pass this test! Can't wait to take your CEU courses :)
This program is excellent. Several colleagues of mine used it and recommended it to me. I was expecting it to be somewhat similar to the study guide I used for the LMSW exam and was surprised when the pneumonic devices, formulas, and acronyms that I had been taught were tossed out the window in the very first lecture! Thank goodness they were, because that would not have helped me on the LCSW exam. This study program taught me how to really think about the test questions--I had the information down and I knew how to decipher what each question was really trying to test me on. I passed my mock exams, I passed the ASWB official practice test, and I felt very confident going into my exam. I passed on the first try by a comfortable margin. I couldn't be more pleased and I have recommended this program to many of my colleagues and friends who are prepping for their tests. Highly, highly, highly recommend.
This process was really hard. I literally gave up my social life, focused on eating and sleeping well. I prayed, I cried.. it was literally a mental game you have to play with your self. Don't allow self defeating thoughts to interrupt your goal of getting licensed. After the first two tries; 1st exam failed by 9 points, 2nd exam failed by 4 points; by the 3rd attempt I not only passed but got over the amount of points I needed correct. Thank you TDC! You were with me the whole way through! The key is to just stay focused and confident! Thank you Thank you Thank you!
I was feeling so overwhelmed by all the information I needed to know for the exam. I was very stressed and then my friend mentioned this program and how well it had helped her to prepare. I felt so prepared going into my exam and passed it my first try. Thanks so much for creating such a well thought out study system.
Thank you so much TDC team! I used this program for my LMSW, and now for my LCSW!!! Great material! I scored 17 points higher than the required score!
I failed my first time taking the LCSW exam and after going through this program I realized that I was not prepared at all. I'm a logical person and the methods that I used to study before were not providing me with enough explanation for the rationale. The audio lessons and all of the rationales helped me to gain such a better understanding on how to answer the questions. Even the sections that are recall based, because of the great explanations I was able to retain the information better. I was sooo relieved when I passed and I really do owe it to this study program for helping me to be more intentional with my studying and it was very comprehensive!
So, I wasn’t someone who passed the exam the first time around. I would also say that I didn’t use the TDC study course to prepare the first time either. However, upon starting your study program, it helped me to better organize my study topics as well as figure out the best study times for me. The course really does cover what’s on the exam. I believe that a large part of my hinderance’s after failing the first two times, was developing test anxiety, fear and doubt. I struggled with my confidence in knowing the material. Once I finally realized what was happening, this last time of preparation, I included more self-care in my studies. That consisted of reading biblical scriptures that helped to replace negative thoughts, prayer, and a lot of breathing exercises, to help my body begin to cope with the anxiety that would come. For anyone out there struggling to pass their Clinical Social Work exam, don’t give up!! You got this!! The light of day is coming. It did for me, March 18, 2022.
First and foremost, thank you so much! In May 2021, I started studying for the LCSW exam using the Dawn Apgar study guide. I read the entire guide and made note cards from about half of the book over a period of eight months off and on. The book was overwhelming and did not help build my confidence in taking the exam. After learning about several of my coworkers fail the LCSW exam, I decided to quit my job in December and focus on studying (as well as take a couple trainings I've been meaning to take). I've really enjoyed the study methods outlined in the LCSW study program. The quizzes and exams were challenging and helped me thinking critically about each question. The written and oral breakdowns of the questions were helpful in processing the material. I included the questions I got wrong from the practice exams into my regular study material. I made note cards of several important study areas including the DSM 5 diagnoses and posted them around the house for constant reflection. I will highly recommend this study program to every future social worker! Thank you!!
