Social Work Exam Prep Reviews
I want to share that when I failed the first time I took the test and they said they would stick with you until you passed and that is exactly what they did. They gave me an extension when I asked for it. I went over the course again in great detail and I passed the test on my second try. The course works and I would recommend the course to anyone that wants to pass the test. Thank you for everything you put in the course because I may have not been able to pass without taking this course.
I would recommend the Therapist Development Center to anyone taking the exam. I thought I would never have the time to appropriately study with a full time job and family. This program strips it down to exactly what you need to prepare and sets it up in comprehensible pieces that you can fit into any schedule. The program helped me to highlight and sharpen my own experience and clinical thought processes to be more effective in how I was approaching the exam and the questions actually being asked. I went into each exam confident that, while I had not memorized every single piece of related information, I was capable of thinking and reasoning my way to the most correct answer. Thank you so much!
I used this program for both part one and part two. I had failed part 1 the first time I took it, but I only used AATBS to prepare. I found this program and seriously changed the way I viewed the exam. TDC made it so simple to rationalize and learn the strategies to pass! Thanks TDC and team! I am now an LCSW!!
In taking the exam I felt very comfortable and confident. The first time I took the exam I felt that I rushed as I thought I was ready. The second time I took the exam I was ready. I knew my information specially the framing which really helped me get through the exam. In taking the exam I felt like I was taking your exam. As a second language learner, I have always struggle to take multiple choice test, I felt that your material was excellent, relevant, easy to maneuvour and apply to test. Thank you so much for creating this study website that I have recommended to a few coworkers and friends that are also passing with your material. Thank you for helping me reach this great accomplishment, now I am honor and hold dear to my heart to say, that I am an LCSW.
I turned to the Therapist Development Center after searching online for a course of study to prepare for the LBSW exam. I am a Behavioral Health Case Manager for an insurance company. Recent legislative changes have made it mandatory to have a license to work in certain lines of business. Because I graduated 35 years ago, creating a plan of study was a daunting proposition! A day long webinar or workshop wasn’t going to cut if for me. While I found the ASWB study guide a helpful outline of what to study, my college notes and materials are long gone. Calls to local universities for help led nowhere. I found a plethora of sites selling study materials and offering mock test samples that I truly believe are meant to terrify the seeker into failing miserably on their tests so that a fear based purchase of their equally miserable study materials will be made! To that end, I am the owner of a costly set of poorly written, poorly laid out and flimsy flash cards that contained a lot of material that never showed up on the exam.
If 35 years of advocating for the underdog in my field taught me anything, it was to persevere until I found the answer. I liked what I read about the Therapist Development Center ownership and study format designed by Social Workers who took the test and are available to mentor as needed. Although the site is designed for LMSW and LCSW study I wrote them anyway. They validated the findings I shared above and offered me online materials which are well organized and enforce learning with lecture, note formats, study guides, quizzes, tests and mock exams. BINGO. While reading about how the test questions are designed in the ASWB guide is helpful, I didn’t get the hang of it, until I listened to Amanda Rowan’s explanations presented with real life situations and terms I could grasp. Not only did I find a course of study that helped me to pass with flying colors, I now have a quick reference binder full of topical guides, definitions, best practices based in theory that are relevant in my every day job. I needed very little mentoring but did get help in recall areas. Thank you Emily Pellegrino for being there!
The course of study provided meaning to the reason one gets a license in the first place.
