I avoided registering to take the exam for nearly 8 months because I felt ill equipped and overwhelmed to locate adequate study materials. I needed to pass the ASWB exam the first time, because if I didn't I would have lost my job. Then I discovered the Therapist Development Center through the NASW newsletter and did my research on the program. I felt more comfortable with this study program than the others I examined, so I took the financial leap and registered. I am so glad that I did. With the Therapist Development Center study program, my confidence grew, my anxiety lessened because I had a solid plan of action and access to materials and information. Within weeks of registering for the study program, I set an exam date. I passed with a 13 point margin!! Thanks Amanda and the team that makes this possible. I will be utilizing this program again to assist me with preparing for the LCSW exam in the future.

I work in crisis oriented work. I often work late and irregular hours and I'm often on call. I found this study course really great considering that I would have been too tired and busy to go to an in-person course or come home at the end of a long day and read books. I put all my eggs into this study guide basket and it paid off. I got 130 of 150 questions on the exam, so I passed by a fair amount and I only used this guide. I thought the audio lectures were really helpful and Amanda and Bethany were quite captivating considering I was expecting the content to be a bit boring. I actually learned a lot and felt like the course gave me some needed perspective on not just the honor, but also the weight of responsibility that it is to be a licensed therapist. I actually feel much more well versed in DSM 5 changes than prior to taking the course. I have already highly recommended the course to my colleagues. I felt over-prepared taking the exam, which is a good thing. I completed the course in less than 2 months, which felt and sounds a lot better than others who claimed you need to study for 3 months to a year to be prepared--which just isn't realistic for many hard working and busy social workers. This program really prepared me for the test. It prepared me with the topics covered and also the way the test was formatted. Reasoning was very helpful.
