MFT Exam Prep Reviews

Lauren Gonzalez,

I went into preparation for the MFT Standard Written Exam terrified of the test years before I had to take it and doubting my ability to pass given certain experiences I've had with standardized tests. I panic over time, over-think the answers, and fight my first instinct, often changing my answers to the wrong answer. This study course helped me adjust my thinking about test-taking, which ultimately helped me realize that the night before the test, I had a new experience of test-taking—I realized I KNEW the material and had confidence that I was prepared to actually TAKE the test. The process was by far my greatest challenge, not the material itself. And I passed on the first try! Thanks, Amanda and coach Asya!

Yolanda Denise,

I felt prepared going into the test today after using the Therapist Development Center. I only had 6 weeks to study, so I was on a fast track. The coaches were prompt in returning answers to my questions and offered techniques that worked for them. I like how Amanda’s lectures are straight to the point. There were a lot of questions related to theory and intervention and PTSD. Amanda was pretty close in terms of explaining what you could expect. I like how she explains things in how to handle things in terms of private practice, as I haven't had that experience yet. I look forward to using Therapist Development Center materials in preparing for the second test.

Kambria Caldwell, MFT

Thank you so much TDC for seeing me through both the SWE and the CVE for the MFT program. I passed both tests the first time using the strategies given in the audios!

Tim Leslie,

I think the strength of this prep course is that you get a great representation for how you will experience taking the actual exam on exam day.

Nicole Garcia,

I have been so stressed out lately by life and my job; the idea of studying for my licensure was definitely the cherry on top. After completing the material, I still felt inadequate in terms of my ability to take the exam, but once in the exam room, I realized that I had the knowledge to answer the questions. I also felt a bit more comfortable, as I was used to seeing the type of formatting of the test questions due to the study material. I did still feel during the exam that I was failing, but to my surprise and enjoyment I passed. I am halfway there and believe in my abilities as well as the accurateness of this material to prepare me for the next test.
