I have always been a nervous test taker. For the sake of this testimonial, it came down to some simple things for me to do. First, I prayed daily and asked God to help me on my journey to be a good student. Second, I had to remind myself that I am a student for life, and therefore I need to remain open-minded about my education, and the knowledge that is being passed down to me through the Therapeutic/Counseling history and how it has evolved over time. Lastly, I expressed my need for support with my loved ones. This support came through as quiet time for study time, reminders to get enough sleep, prayers, as well as reminders of all the hard work that I have put into my dream of being a licensed therapist. Other than the aforementioned, my journey to taking the L&E was most frustrating. I rescheduled my exam three times throughout my journey. It is very difficult to study when working a full-time job. I am so happy about my decision to choose TDC, as I am a visual and auditory learner. I was visually able to read along with the auditory that helped explain the rationales for the questions that I had missed, which enhanced my understanding that much greater. Had TDC not had the auditory to go along with the visual readings of the rationales, I can honestly say that my own personal rationales (i.e., what I believed to be true) would have gotten in the way. Being educated in school is much more different that providing the therapy/counseling in reality. There is more to learn from what the state, and the BBS requires than just textbook course work. TDC has provided me with more understanding about Law and Ethics than any other textbook course I have taken. I want to thank the team who had the vision to set up TDC. It truly enhanced my learning more than I can express. I will be using TDC when the time comes for me to study for the CCE.
