I studied intensely for 2.5 weeks before attempting this exam for the first time. I enjoyed listening to all the audios and attempting the Mock Exams. The mock exams were difficult! I went from scoring a 64% to a 71% to a 77% to a 72% the night before the exam! I am also thankful for the extensive experience I already have in the field working as an associate clinician doing therapeutic work in community mental health. I think that aspect of my experience really helped me conceptualize areas I kept missing/getting wrong when study and attempting the quizzes. I will say the difficulty of the TDC seriously helped because the exam itself did not feel as difficult, it felt more straightforward because of the various vignettes and coverage of topics provided. I was recommended by a colleague to use TDC as they did when studying for their exam. Totally worth it and looking forward to using it for my licensure ASWB exam when the time comes!
I've found doing the California Law and Ethics Exam prep and my LCSW exam prep through TDC has proven so helpful and thorough that I passed on the first attempt for both exams.
TDC offers a format of studying that is digestible and accessible! It not only supports you in learning the material, but truly understanding how to address the exam itself.
Thanks to the TDC, I felt very prepared. I was very nervous but using the practice material modules, and mock exams made a strong difference. The amount of times people recommended the TDC to me, it was worth it. Will definitely use again!
Absolutely phenomenal study guide center! Applying concepts to clinical actions, judgement, and in-person professional responses that utilize law and values code of conducts helped me the most. The amount of studying a test taker is not as beneficial vs. the test taker fully being competent in the law/ethics principles.
This exam toolkit was helpful.
I’m an auditory and visual learner. I really enjoy podcast of being able to listen to the rationale was very helpful, but also being sat down and notetaking during the rationale explanations helped me a lot. I’m not the best test taker never happened so I tend to psych myself out of the right answer. The test taking tips were helpful.
TDC is phenomenal!!!!!!
Please keep up the fantastic work.
I had failed the exam a year ago. It was a big blow to my professional ego. I had been dragging on my studying then found the Therapist Development Center. I appreciated the thoroughness of the content, the pacing, and ability to replay [which I did often].
This program was central to my successful passing of the CA Law and Ethics exam. The content was thorough, well-organized, and directly aligned with what appeared on the exam. In fact, this study course was much harder than the actual exam. I appreciated how this prep course taught me to think strategically while testing. I learned that when a question mentioned age, it usually signaled a "legal framework." When mentioning dual relationships or boundaries, I knew that meant to look through an ethical lens. That kind of pattern recognition made a huge difference in how I read, understood, and answered each question.
I have recommended this study course to many of my newly graduated peers. Thank you for creating such a valuable resource!
Having been recommended to use TDC from colleagues I trust, I was excited to see what the material would be like. I appreciated the mix of handouts, true/false, actual mock exams and the audio explanations! Literally this test prep was worth every dollar and have already recommended it to a few people from my cohort. I loved having the audio playback with varying speeds! I seriously cannot handle 1.0 speed and to be able to use 1.25 or 1.5 was a lifesaver. Made it so much easier to focus. I also appreciated how they were broken down into segments rather than all questions/explanations in one.
I definitely intend to use TDC when it is time to take my clinical exam!
