In going through the TDC study materials, I found it most helpful the way the program gives you a framework for how to think through the questions. TDC covered many of the areas that I encountered in the exam from theories to program evaluation. The information was presented in digestible pieces and was solidified through quizzes and quick studies. I felt confident and prepared in being able to tackle the exam and pass it.
Thank you so much for your help and organization, I was prepared and ready to take this exam. 122 correct!!!
TDC was the only resource I used to prepare for the exam. I walked in feeling prepared, and passed on the first try. I highly recommend this course.
I primarily studied using TDC over about 2 months. I didnt feel ready until after the mock exams. I was more than prepared at test time! This was well worth it.
The course was very helpful. Their plan and breaking things down into smaller pieces really helps for planning the studying. Their focus on relevant topics helps to reduce wasted time on unnecessary things. Was a great help for me.
A message from a Black man who has struggled with generalized anxiety (undiagnosed at the start of my studies), PTSD (two friends died when I was younger and never seeked out counseling), and reading comprehension issues my entire life, I was grateful and thankful to have found the Therapist Development Center two and half years ago.
I was in the office of my mentor and at the time I had a MS in Psychology, but my mentor informed me that with my job and career path, it would be advisable to get my MSW and then take my LCSW exam right after. I had finally, after being out of school for 8 years mustered up the courage to go back, but before I started I wanted to find a great study program and with a quick Google search and after reading all of the testimonials... I knew this was the program for me. I book marked it on my computer for two and half years and every so often, I would read about others passing their exams and envisioned me, one day writing my testimony.
See as a child I lost most of my eyesight and hearing, but with operations I was able to regain a majority of my hearing and eyesight back. I also struggle with reading comprehension and anxiety which I felt would play a major role in me passing this exam. I was wrong. I remember working through the "First 50 Topics" questions and I scored a 48%. I questioned and doubted that taking this exam was for me, but I pushed on. I completed the program twice and had a study schedule that I stuck two as close as possible, which was hard with a wife, three kids under 6yo, and a full time job. Studying for this exam also had me thinking about my own mental health, I schedule an appointment with my PCP and discussed my symptoms and what I've been feeling my whole life and he said, "You've been living with generalized anxiety, from the sounds of it... your whole life. I also recommend you find a therapist to work through all the loss you experienced as a kid/young adult." So we discussed next steps. For me the next steps were to feel "normal" not feel on edge or easily irritated with things and people. See for me starting the Therapist Development Center was a life journey, one that I've gone through and came out the other side a much better person.
I'm sorry for the long testimony, but I've been waiting 2+ years to write this and I can finally say with the help of the Therapist Development Center, I passed (Friday the 12th of November 2021) my exam on the first try and I am a licensed Social Worker! Thank you!
I truly appreciate TDC, I am a HORRIBLE test taker and typically get so anxious. The program, especially the practice quizzes and mock exams, helped me to feel confident and not surprised as to what the exam was going to be like.
I didn't think I could pass this test because 1) I didn't pass the first time. I was totally overwhelmed with the first test prep. TDC is so much better. 2) I am recovering from a difficult shoulder surgery and I'm still in a lot of discomfort. I was injured this past winter and it's been a long, painful process. 3) I took this exam along with people half my age! Your strategies really work! I'm thrilled! Many thanks to Amanda and the TDC staff!!
This course really prepared me to pass this test! It helped me to look at each question from a clinical view and I felt very prepared for the test! Lectures were my favorite as I could listen to them wherever I was! Thank you for helping me pass my exam so I can further my social work career :)
I owe my passing to TDC , seriously such a great program that kept me on track! THANK YOU
