I am so happy to share that I passed the CA LCSW Clinical exam. I have really bad test anxiety and was so anxious about this test. I was so worried that I ended up purchasing the program a year in advance. I wanted to be able to take my time, explore each topic at my own pace, and not feel overwhelmed. About 3 months from my test date I really focused and followed a study schedule. I loved all of the materials and felt they all applied to the real exam. The most helpful part for me was listening to the lectures and learning how to think through a question. Also, having two final mock exams helped to build my stamina to sit through a 4 hour test. I can not thank you enough for helping me accomplish my dream of becoming an LCSW! I would highly recommend this program to everyone!
After failing the exam on my first attempt by one point, I felt defeated. I studied and I thought I was prepared. I had watched all kinds of youtube videos and signed up for study sessions. But I realized I hadn't studied for anything since I graduated with my MSW in 2008. Clearly, I needed guidance. I had seen ads and short videos from the Therapist Development Center and looked into the program a little deeper. I am so glad I did! I needed structure and guidance and that is what the curriculum did for me. Having a program to do step by step made the difference. When I took the test the second time around I passed by 16 points! To me, that is a big difference.
The mock exams and practice exams prepared me for the actual exam! I didn't have to spend as much time memorizing the recall based information as much because the practice exams/mock exams covered so much. TDC was the only thing I used to study for this exam. I would highly recommend it to others!
I was extremely nervous to take the LCSW exam, even with studying, I felt confident after completing this program but still felt extremely nervous to take the exam. However, I think this program really prepares you for this exam, not only the material but setting the framework and mindset to take the exam; from arriving early, tricks to keep your sugar/energy/focus up. I thought I was going to be fine with sugar level but I'm glad I took that cough drop and the juice. I took my break at half point, as recommended by this program, drank my juice and already had my open cough drop at the desk. After 10 minutes of resuming my test, I did feel my sugar shift, I thought I was getting anxiety but it was definitely my sugar. I popped in that cough drop, took deep breaths and recited some positive self-statements and felt better and continued to focus and feel confident throughout the test. Out of all of the questions, I marked only a handful-which I think tells you how well this program prepares you for the test. There were probably two questions in which, I felt confused, (which I don't remember now what they were) I think that is a great, considering the amount of questions there are. The exam looked identical to the prep program, which means, no surprises, nothing majorly different that catches you off guard, which really helps in knowing how to answer the questions. I am really thankful for this program! My friend took the test in another state and used a different program and she did not pass. She said she will be using this LCSW program to study before attempting for the second time. Thank you TDC!!!!!!
This study course 100% prepared me for the exam. There were many setbacks on my personal journey to taking the exam including cancelled exams due to COVID-19 pandemic. TDC was supportive and help minimize test anxiety through it all by allowing me to extend my usage until I was able to take the exam. Thanks, TDC!
I put of taking the ASWB clinical exam for a long time because the thought of taking it seemed too intimidating. One of my coworkers who had failed the exam 2 times before took your program and was able to pass. She raved about this program so I decided to finally schedule my exam to force myself to prepare. I went through the entire course and went into my exam feeling confident. I am happy to say I passed on my first try. Thank you so much.
With the TDC program, I went into my exam confidently on my first attempt and passed by a huge margin (I needed 103, and I got 132). But before I purchased my study program from TDC, I was studying all the wrong material. I literally spent months studying the wrong material. I even created 9 different study posters that I plastered all over my bedroom. I thought I knew what I was doing, but I was struggling so much to consume heavy technical knowledge (that I later found out was unnecessary). Then I tried using those acronyms that other prep programs will tell you about, and that was even more of a disaster because those acronyms do NOT work for all case scenarios and I was getting extremely frustrated with how many practice questions did not fit the logic of those acronyms. I never took the exam using any of these study methods because I felt extremely unprepared and fragmented. It was so stressful. I finally decided to purchase the TDC program, and THAT WAS THE BEST DECISION. I can confidently say that I would have failed the exam without the TDC program. I’m not trying to convince you of anything – this is just my honest opinion as a 28-year-old student from Michigan. I am a Type A organized student and the structure of TDC was unbelievably helpful to me. Being able to email unlimited questions to a TDC coach and receive prompt responses that made sense was invaluable. Being able to listen to the audio lectures and also have handouts provided was amazing. The TDC program made my study process feel 1,000 times easier and more manageable. I have so much regret that I didn’t just use TDC from the very beginning. It made the exam feel super easy to me. There will always be some questions on the exam that you have to make guesses on, but when I was taking my exam, I knew within the first 30 minutes that I was going to pass it because I felt so confident. Do yourself a favor and just use the TDC program. I cannot express enough how grateful I am for this program.
This program helped me so much, the structure of the program was the most helpful for me. It was so nice to have the schedule out in front of me so I could keep myself on track and study each category in detail. I felt very well supported by the study materials and I felt ready and competent for the exam!
I signed up for one other site initially, but was getting very discouraged and anxious as soon as I started trying to work with it. I then searched some more on the internet and found your site. And, thank God that I did.
I found the learning materials, the way the course was organized, and the presentation style to be awesome. I was feeling once more encouraged, I followed your study schedule and passed my exam on my first try.
I especially found it helpful taking Amanda's voice in my head into the exam with me. Whenever, I felt unsure of an answer, I just had Amanda read it out loud in my head, and the reasoning skills just kicked in.
Thank you so much for your excellent course. I don't think I could have done it without you, whether it was the learning material or the confidence you instilled along the study journey.
I am very thankful, grateful, and I would highly recommend your study site to any other social worker preparing to write this exam.
The study center did a great job in providing thinking strategies as well as prepare mentally. The pretests and mock exams helped prepare with possible questions and how to respond during the real test.
