I just want to say Thank You TDC and staff. Days before I took the Mock 1 final exam, i scored a really low score. I also took the mock final exam 2 and got a really low score. But, your guidance in managing test anxiety really helped me the 2nd time around. I also appreciate the promptness of your staff responding to my email. Thank you Asya Mourraile for giving me pointers.

Positive Regards,

Anthony Phan LMFT

PS the L looks amazing in my eyes! :)

I PASSED, ,

I would like to personally thank Robin who knew that the MFT Law & Ethics study material would be similar to the LPCC Law & Ethics exam. She ensured I received the study program greatly prepared me to take my LPCC Law & Ethics exam. Thank you for providing the study program free to veterans! :) I would definitely recommend this program.

Therapist Development Center's course absolutely prepared me for the California MFT Clinical Exam! The modules are thorough, well-organized and informative. Amanda does a great job of discussing "how to approach the test" in addition to a wealth of information on content. Although I had been licensed for over 11 years in another state before taking her course, I regularly found new insights and knowledge in her lectures that I had either not learned previously, or had forgotten about. Near the end of the study program, I was feeling a little discouraged because her practice tests and mock exams got harder and harder as I went, so my scores on them were actually declining! This added to my stress leading up to and on testing day (and might be worth reconsidering for future iterations). But when I took the actual licensing exam, I was absolutely prepared for it, and passed on my first attempt.I would strongly recommend this program for anyone preparing to take the clinical exam.

Great learning experience which prepared me for the actual exam. Invest both money and time in this program and you can pass the challenging MFT exam.

I PASSED on the first try!!! I can hardly believe it and am still shaking and in disbelief!!! But I slayed the beast! Thank you to Amanda and Asya for helping me through this process!!!

I submitted my hours in the beginning of December, decided to enjoy the Christmas season and began studying the first week in January 2019. I plotted out my study schedule using the recommendations. and initially planned to go through everything twice and follow the 12-week plan. I ended up doing a modified version of that, only going back and listening to lectures on my weak areas. I took my test on April 23, 2019. (I planned on taking it a little sooner, but postponed due to illness)

I took copious notes on each of the lectures, made flash cards for each of the theories and also for some of the areas for which I felt weak. I did good on the first 3 mock exams, but began freaking out after taking the first Final Mock Exam (for which I did HORRIBLE). However, after reading Facebook posts from other sojourners, I felt encouraged to reach out to a coach. So, I sent an email and found it incredibly helpful! Asya sent me a very detailed email and encouraged me review the test to look for my pattern on incorrect answers. She was very thorough in response, therefore I didn't feel I needed a coaching session, but would have used it if I felt that it was necessary.

I wish I had exercised more often, and followed Amanda's advice of following a regular routine, however, I did in the last week and it helped ease my anxiety. I got up early on the morning of my exam, ate a sensible meal, packed my snack and ate a piece of fruit along with juice right before the test. And to pump myself up, I listed to Macklemore’s “Can’t Hold Us” on repeat while driving to the test sight! (I remembered that I had done this in grad school when I took my comp exams and it made me feel really good!!!) I highly suggest listening to some sort of “pump you up” song before the test! It’s a real confidence booster.

I wrote down several positive affirmations on my scratch paper as well as the timeline that TDC suggests to keep your pace with the questions/timing. Lastly, I took a 5 minute break around question 93, at 121 minutes. I got down to 1 minute with my last question and didn’t have any time to review my marked answers so I just said a prayer, used positive self-talk, and clicked to submit!

I HIGHLY recommended TDC to anyone studying for this exam (and the L&E as well)! I appreciate how it's all laid out with a suggested study schedule. What I appreciate most about these materials is the way that Amanda teachers you HOW to think about the test. It's mostly a reasoning test, and I greatly valued the skills that Amanda imparts in regard to narrowing down the answers on the exam. It's a BEAST! But, with her help, you can do it!

Ya’ll, YOU GOT THIS!!! You can SLAY the beast!

I passed first time! I'm thankful for TDC's excellent preparation. I don't have time to waste in my life, so I especially liked how TDC's program is so efficient. When I didn't do as well as I wanted in the final mocks, I arranged a coaching session with Asya, which was invaluable. The exam itself was very tricky, but TDC's caution that most of us feel as though we're failing kept me unflustered and focused. I'm grateful to all at TDC.

I passed the exam on the first try! I switched to TDC from a different prep course at the recommendation of a friend who used TDC. The tutorials, mock exams and ability to print out the completed mock exams to study the rationales was extremely helpful. My test anxiety was sky high on the way to the test site but I listened to the Pep Talk and that really helped. I think the reason this program is so effective is because this prep course is developed and delivered by real therapists who have been in the same shoes. Thank you TDC for an excellent prep course.

TDC prepared me very well. When I took the test, I felt confident in terms of test-taking strategies and my knowledge base. I was definitely glad I had studied. I am not even as much of an audio learner; however, this program surprised me in how well it worked for me. The practice exams and rationales were extremely helpful. I had always heard good things, and now I can verify the power of TDC!

TDC did a wonderful job of introducing the content material from several angles. I genuinely enjoyed listening to all the lectures, and what I loved most was how clear Amanda's lectures were. They were so well organized, and extremely precise and to the point. Most importantly, I did not feel like I was doing this on my own. Amanda created a wonderful structure, where I felt contained as a student, and took the elements of the container into the test during the day. I followed all of the course material to the T, and did exactly as instructed in the courses. I HIGHLY recommend this course. It truly was a great experience! THANK YOU.

I chose this program for the high ratings and word of mouth within our therapist community. I wasn't sure if I was a "listening to lectures" type of person. Previously I used another study program for Law and Ethics and it consisted of practice exams and books. Although I did well with that model, I excelled with this audio model. I took Amanda's voice into my exam and I passed on the first try with 45 minutes to spare. I went into the exam with confidence and radical acceptance. I had a coaching session with Asya, which is a great idea because we discussed strategy, which is the KEY to passing this tough exam. This is a far superior program to the others out there and I will continue to be a customer/student here and am looking into purchasing the Structural Family Therapy model to further develop my clinical skills. Thanks TDC!
