I had the benefit of being licensed in Virginia since 1999 but that was a long time ago and not specific to California. This was incredibly helpful!!
Thanks to TDC for helping me prepare for the LCSW Standard Written Exam! I left the test feeling that I had been overprepared, which was a good feeling. I found the mock exams and rationales to be the most helpful for me, and channelling Amanda's answer explanations really helped me through the exam.
I purchased the TDC for both LCSW exams and passed on the first try, using no additional study materials. The TDC material is presented in a way that feels manageable, even while having a 6-month-old baby and working full time. I was very well prepared for the test!! The hardest part of the test was the anxiety and having to sit and concentrate for such a long period of time. It was difficult test, but I felt like I had the background to figure out even the most difficult questions. It is a test of reasoning not memorization for sure. I will be recommending this program to others just as it was recommended to me. I especially appreciated being able to email and get quick responses to my questions the day before the exam. Not only answers but details answers and advice on how to study.
The content of the study material was spot on with the exam. I went into the exam with confidence because of the test strategies. Due to the approach of the study program, I went into this exam answering differently and with more confidence. I passed on my 1st attempt! The service was exceptional. I loved the simplicity of this program. I had other study material that was just overhwlming. This program was helpful in changing my thought process; with other programs, it just felt like i had to memorize tons of information. I did take a break, not the the full 5, but it did help to leave my seat and refocus. I stayed focused and pushed through the test, marking questions for later review instead of wasting time trying to figure out the answer. I did not have time to go back to review marked questions but I did work till the last minute and answered all questions.
Test day came; I was anxious and afraid I was not prepared enough to take the test. I was getting 68%, 69%, 71% and I didn't feel confident. There was more actually more information provided in Amanda's approach than was needed to answer the exam questions. I felt quite empowered while taking the test. Thank you Amanda for providing such a practical approach!
I made the decision to test kind of suddenly...faced my fear... but consequently only had 4-5 weeks to prepare. I followed the program diligently and felt confident going into the test! I passed!!!
Before using TDC, I had been using AATBS tests and a Grossman study guide. I was relieved when Amanda explained the flaws in those tests. I also really appreciated all of the study tips, the audio rationales, and the organization in studying provided by TDC. It made studying much more manageable; I had a more concrete framework to study from and was able to take the salient points from all the different areas of study and commit them to memory. It made me feel more confident going into the test and more confident in my clinical knowledge.
Amanda's program was comprehensive and organized and really set a strong foundation/program for my studying regimen. Her approach is very helpful especially for people, like myself, who stress about exams! I felt that my anxiety was more in check, and I was able to rationalize my answers like Amanda taught me during the program! I highly recommend this program since it does not inundate you with excessive information but rather helps you develop/gain understanding & reasoning skills!
