My story is a rather interesting one. I took the SWE twice and failed both times. The test structure then changed and I had to take the Law and Ethics exam. I took it and failed it by one point and came a bit unglued in the process. I was tempted to give up though the time and commitment that I had put into this pursuit pushed me to continue forth and keep going until I passed. I didn't really take into account how profound these exams are and how tricky they can be to pass. For my second time around with the Law and Ethics exam I put all of my heart and soul into it. I had two coaching sessions and had other friends and colleagues coaching me and encouraging me. I did not schedule the test until I was absolutely ready. I knew that I could not handle another fail. I changed test sites as I had negative associations with the one closest to me. My fiance told me that he would take me to Disney Land after I passed the test at the Anaheim site. Lo and behold! I did pass! And afterwards, we had a wonderful trip to Disney Land! I knew that this time was different and I would pass it for sure. My heart was racing and pounding and my hands were shaking but I passed! My advice for others is to absolutely believe in yourself. You can do this! I am venturing on now to take the clinical exam and I now know the degree of studying and security with the subject matter that needs to happen in order to pass. It takes determination and trust that your experiences up until this point as well as your diligence to study will get you a pass and not a fail. TDC was awesome! I almost felt embarrassed at times with the amount of questions I asked and the amount of coaching I had...but in the end, I was received with compassion, empathy and a positive point of view! Thank you! I will continue on with TDC for the next exam!
