I passed the LCSW Law and Ethics test today and could not be happier! TDC's was extraordinarily helpful. When I initially looked at the outline provided by the BBS I felt super overwhelmed with all of the concepts I thought I was going to have to, "memorize." When I learned about TDC from another clinician I was super excited. The program and approach has you focus on the topics that are key and really helps you develop the working knowledge not rote memorization. Hands down the best!

I passed the exam today on my first try after completing this study course. I found this course covered the topics on the exam well. In all honesty, the exam today felt 'easier' than the two final mock exams on your course, and, no surprise here, I was happy about this. There were, maybe, ten to fifteen questions on the exam today where in I was torn between two answers. I think it's really important to stress what the therapist would do FIRST in a situation, because sometimes there are two or three answers that are possibilities for later on in the course of therapy, and this can be confusing. Also, I found it really important to focus on 'who my client is' as a lot of the stems included people friends with, or family of the client. I probably learned the most from listening to the rationales for the correct answers. Those helped gear my thinking in the proper manner for taking and passing this exam.
Overall, this was excellent preparation for the exam. Thank you very much. You've got a very happy customer here.

Sincerely,
Alison Reid

In 2018, I took this exam for the 1st time. I had about 9 months of supervision and did not enroll in any programs for additional study material or support. My father had committed suicide in August 2018 and that affected my mental health and countertransference with the material. My supervisor told me to eat before my exam and since my exam was located in a different city than were, I lived I found a restaurant I loved and ate a big meal. I studied off the little materials I was provided and did not seek any outside studying material. I work for CPS and had returned the Sunday before my Monday exam from an out of state travel that included several time zones changes. Long story short - I was not prepared at all for my exam the 1st time. I requested my supervisor provide me with additional materials and after a few more months felt it was best to end my supervision hours as I did not feel supported, I was discouraged and felt a break would be best to focus on my own mental health. I did seek therapy. I took about a year off of supervision hours. I did register for this exam and picked a date in late March/April. It was postponed due to the pandemic. I picked this date in July. About a month ago I was searching online and watched a few YouTube videos about TDC. I know this was a program that had credibility and was told to me by colleagues to enroll in. I just did not know if I could afford it and if it was necessary. At this point, I did not have a supervisor and I only had the print outs and notes from the 1st time I took the exam. I knew I needed to do something different if I wanted different results. So, I enrolled the program. I saw there was a 5-8-week option for studying. I took a couple weeks off work to focus on this material. I studied every single day and night. I ran through the entire program at least twice. I read the material to myself out loud, listen to the material in the car and during long walks. The day off I reviewed material to boost my confidence. I picked up a banana from 711 and a drink that I find comfort in and would fill me up but not make me to full. I prayed and envisioned myself passing. I told myself I have worked so hard for this and that I deserve this. I liked to a medication session that remained me to sit in the uncertainty and find peace within myself. I took the material in the program serious and during the exam was extremely focused. I am so thankful and proud of myself for passing. Thank you for giving me the knowledge and skills to be a confident social worker. I feel that with this program I have a deeper understanding of my Code of Ethics and Law that I must follow. I have a Bsw and MSW, but this program has given me something I never received in formal education. This helped me with my learning style and be able to retain information. My focus in school was always Child Welfare Services and I work for CPS. This program has helped me shift my thinking to a therapist and I love it. I am so excited, and I honestly can't wait to come back and register for the training to support my clinical exam next year. THANK YOU!

This was a great program to prepare for the CA Law and Ethics Exam. I really appreciated how the program really prepared me to make clinical decisions with each scenario as opposed to just memorizing a bunch of facts. The information base that it covers was very thorough. I was fairly confident going into the test and I passed on my first shot! Recommended for anyone studying to take the CA Law & Ethics Exam. I will probably use this program when it is time to take my clinical exam as well.

The TDC course is a wise investment. The Law and Ethics material can seem straight forward when you study the different content sections outright but, when you take the practice tests over and over the general constructs being tested and deeper strategies you need to use become more and more clear w/ each test.
I don't think I could have passed the test on the first try w/o a course like this. There are times when we as professionals would do multiple things in response to ethical/legal issues as they come up- the course teaches you how to prioritize and sift through the options to land on the best answer that addresses the stem of the question. For me, a specifically helpful aspect of this prep was in those instances when it feels like law and ethics conflict on some level-the course trains you to work with that type of thing and still find your way to what they are testing specifically, regardless. The added option of asking a coach for clarification as needed w/ various issues was also greatly appreciated.
I am licensed in another state and have practiced trauma-focused psychotherapy for years. I relocated to CA. in Feb. Passing this exam is what stood between me and getting back to work-- a humbling and maddening experience all at once. Even w/ a lot of experience I felt very intimidated by this requirement.
I sat in my car and cried after passing I was so relieved!
So, in summary, I highly recommend the TDC course for the CA Law and Ethics exam. Sincere gratitude to Amanda, Robin and all the others involved in developing and facilitating such a helpful program.

Unfortunately with COVID-19 my plans were interrupted regarding giving myself two shots at the test when the testing centers closed down. I stopped midway through the program because I didn't want to lengthen my study time. Thankfully, the materials were able to be picked back up appropriately and I felt super confident going into my first attempt at the test. Even with the added pressure, TDC helped me pass my Law & Ethics the first time. Thanks!

I loved this program! The combination of audio lectures, multiple practice exams, and availability of printable outlines made my study experience well rounded and allowed me to utilize different styles of learning. The rationales are thorough and really helped me to not only learn new concepts, but also to truly understand the material. I passed on my first attempt! I was nervous and during my exam I felt unsure at times, but I followed the tips and advice provided by the program, and I think it really made a difference. I also really appreciated the coach service, I got a quick response time and a detailed response. Thank you TDC!
