Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 5/30/24-5/30/27.*

Therapist Development Center is recognized by the New York State Education Department's (NYSED) State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers SW-0857.

FAQs

1. What are the CE renewal requirements in my state?

The renewal requirements vary state by state. Please check your state’s licensing board for the most up-to-date and accurate information.

2. Can I use the 3-hour Telehealth for both my Telehealth and L&E requirements in California?

No, the California BBS allows the 3-hour telehealth course to be counted toward either your one-time telehealth requirement or your Law & Ethics requirement, but not both within the same renewal period. We always recommend you check with the BBS for the most up-to-date information. 

3. How long do I have access to my continuing education courses?

You have initial access to your courses for 2 years from the date of purchase.

4. Can I take the same continuing education courses for more than one renewal?

The renewal requirements vary from state to state. Please check with your state board for specific requirements.

5. Can I use the same certificate and just have you update the date for various renewals? 

You will need to repurchase the course for a certificate with a new date.

6. Are your continuing education courses approved for Social Workers, Professional Clinical Counselors, and MFTs?

TDC is an approved CE provider through the ASWB ACE program and New York State’s Education Department.

Each state has different rules and regulations for licensees and continuing education. It will depend on your state’s licensing board. We encourage you to review your licensing board’s rules for the most accurate data.

7. If I am a supervisor in California and have completed the 15-hour Supervision course, what are the requirements for future renewal periods?

In California, you must complete 6 hours of supervision-related continuing education courses each renewal period. Please note that you cannot double-count a law and ethics course and a supervision course, meaning a 6-hour supervision course cannot be used for your law and ethics requirement, and vice versa, in the same renewal period. 

8. Do I need to take a Law & Ethics CE every year?

In California, you must complete a 6-hour law and ethics course each renewal period. TDC’s law and ethics continuing education courses fulfill this requirement. While many states require a law and ethics course each renewal period, requirements vary, so we recommend checking with your state’s licensing board to confirm your specific requirements.

Your course(s) can be found when you login to your account and go to your study center or your account profile.
