FAQs
1. How long will I have access to the course? Do you offer extensions?
Each program initially expires after six months to encourage focused study. However, extensions are free. If you need additional time, simply submit a request through this form. We are with you until you PASS!
2. Can I get my mock exams reset?
If you took a licensing exam and did not pass, send us your score report here, and we will reset your course. We also recommend reaching out to your coach for support as you prepare to retake the exam.
3. Can I listen to the audio files without using Wi-Fi or data?
No. At this time, audio files are streamed through our website, so you must use either Wi-Fi or mobile data.
4. How do I access my course?
Your purchased courses are in your Study Center. To access it:
- Click Log in / Sign up in the website menu and log in to your account.
- Open the My Account dropdown in the menu and select Study Center.
- Choose the course you'd like to review from your list of purchased courses.
5. How many mock exams come with the course?

This depends on your state. Please check your state’s requirements here.
7. Do I need to take the LCSW Law & Ethics exam?
The LCSW Law & Ethics exam is required only for California social workers. Our LCSW Law & Ethics course is designed specifically for the California exam.
8. When should I start studying?
Our study systems vary in length based on the exam. Generally, they are designed to help you pass within two to three months. Unlike other companies that promote excessive memorization and over-studying—leading to poor exam performance—our program is designed to maximize efficient learning.
Each course includes a customizable study plan to fit your schedule. Some users have completed our program in one week and passed their exams! (But we typically recommend 5-12 weeks of studying.)

9. Do I have access to a coach?
Absolutely! Free coaching with REAL people (never AI!) is one of the key features that sets us apart from other companies. While using our program, you can submit a question anytime, and one of our coaches will email you back within two business days with a personalized response.
Our programs provide everything you need to PASS WITH CONFIDENCE. If you need additional support, you can discuss your options with your coach.

10. Can I get a discount if I used your LMSW program and now need to prepare for the LCSW exam?
Yes! Returning LMSW customers receive a discount on the LCSW program since many key topics overlap between the two exams. To claim your discount, email info@therapistdevelopmentcenter.com with the email address you used for your LMSW program, and we'll send you a personalized coupon code.
11. Do you offer a pass guarantee?
Unfortunately, no company can (or should) guarantee that you will pass. We do, however, provide a PROMISE: we are with you until you pass. You pay only once. When you register at The Therapist Development Center, our team of Social Work Exam and MFT Exam coaches, as well as support staff, will be 100% committed to helping you pass your exam with confidence.
