Picking the Best LCSW or MFT Test Prep Program for You: A Quick Quiz

By Amanda Rowan on July 9, 2012

Woman choosing fruit in a shop We make choices every day.  But there is a lot more on the line when you go shopping for test prep materials.

That's why I love when people call wanting to know more about our LCSW and MFT test prep programs.  I was the same way.  I wanted to know exactly what I was paying for and how it differed from the other companies' programs.

In an effort to make the choice clearer, I have created quick quiz to assess whether we are the right program for you or whether you'd be better off with one of the other companies.

Question 1: Do you like to be overwhelmed with excessive study materials?

If you answered yes, we are not the prep company for you.  We only teach the essentials.  We understand some people like to over study and fill their brains with useless information, but we are really aiming to serve those of you who just want to learn what is going to be tested.

Question 2: Do you like to be confused by contradictory explanations and convoluted rationales on practice exams?

Again, if you answered yes, you are going to be happier elsewhere.  At TDC we place a premium on providing clear, consistent, logical explanations to our practice questions.

Question 3: Do you want your materials to be written by people who have recently taken the exam?

If you said yes, we're the prep company for you.  Many people don't realize that a majority of the other companies have materials written by people who did not actually take the exam.  The best teacher is a person who has actually done themselves what you are attempting to do.

Question 4: Do you like to spend your weekends in a conference room having power point slides read to you all day.

We don't.  That's why all our materials are available anytime on your computer.  You can listen to them as many times as you like, whenever you like. Our lectures are divided into easily digestible segments because the average person stops learning after 90 minutes of passive learning.

Question 5: Do you like having to decide what study materials you need to buy, even when you aren't clear what exactly those materials are?

We don't.  At TDC there is one package for one price.  We supply everything you need to pass and the discount is already built into the price.  No need to spend more just to save more.

Question 6: Do you like to waste time trying to figure out what to study first?

If you answered no, TDC is your place.  Our study system organizes your studying into an efficient system of lectures, handouts, and quizzes.  No need to waste time planning your studying -- we've taken care of that.

Question 7: Do you like to study efficiently and maximize your learning per hour (LPH)?

Of course you do!  Our system is designed with you in mind.  All of our materials are interactive and created based on the science of learning so every time you sit down to study with TDC you will feel you brain rewiring (aka learning).  You will experience a newly felt confidence in the material because you will see the connection with your everyday work. When you go to take the exam, you will have a clear set of thinking strategies to figure out the best answer. And most importantly you will strengthen your clinical skills and become a better therapist.

Question 8: Do you still have questions about our approach?

Please contact us.  We love talking to people about our approach.  We understand that this is an investment in your career and you want to make sure you are spending you money and time wisely.
